Infection control has evolved significantly since the days of "wet fingered" dentistry.
Protocols, audits, processes, the BDA A12. Today, the Department of Health have now introduced their new decontamination guide, neatly summarised as "HTM 01-05". This now replaces the well-established BDA advice sheet - A12.
With more pressure on all DCP's to protect themselves, their colleagues, patients and all others who enter the dental environment, the need for clear guidance and training has never been more significant.
In 2006, the GDC made it mandatory for all DCP’s to complete a minimum of 5 hours verifiable CPD in this subject.
